Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Hum Memo (“the App”) is an 8-track recording app for iPhone and iPad. The App does not send or collect your personal information to the operator’s or any third party’s servers. Your recordings never leave your device unless you export or share them yourself.

2. Data stored on your device

• Your recordings, song and track information (names, volume, effect settings, etc.), converted instrument audio and MIDI data, and timing-correction settings are stored only in the App’s data area on your device.
• Pitch analysis of your humming (using the Basic Pitch model published by Spotify) and instrument rendering run entirely on your device. Audio is never sent anywhere for analysis.
• This data is removed from your device when you delete the App. Whether it is included in iCloud or other backups follows your device settings.

3. Microphone

The App uses the microphone to record. Access is granted only if you allow it in the iOS permission prompt, and you can change it at any time in the Settings app. Microphone audio is captured only while recording and is stored on your device.

4. Exporting and sharing

When you export (WAV, M4A, or MIDI) and choose a destination in the iOS share sheet, the file is handed to the destination you choose (the Files app, AirDrop, another app, etc.). It is then handled under that service’s own policy.

5. Information we do not collect

• Personal information such as your name, email address, location, or contacts
• Advertising identifiers, usage analytics, or our own crash reporting
• The App shows no ads and does not track you.

Apple’s own systems (such as App Store distribution and sharing of device diagnostics) may handle information under Apple’s privacy policy.

6. Children

Because the App collects no personal information, it is handled the same way regardless of age.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date on this page. Before adding any feature that significantly changes how information is handled (for example, a feature that uses the network), we will update this page and the App description.
